Grease Monkey Gungahlin brings the Canberra-born burger, beer and shake concept to a former mechanic’s garage, giving the venue a setting with a clear connection to the brand’s origins. The menu is broad but focused on generous comfort food: burgers are served with chips, while the kitchen also turns out Detroit-style pizza, fried chicken, hot dogs, snacks, desserts and a small selection of bowls.

The burger list ranges from the straightforward Greasy, made with beef, cheese, pickles, onion and the venue’s sauces, to more substantial options such as the Double Deluxe with double beef, bacon and double cheese. The Dirty Bird combines southern fried chicken with salad and cheese, while the Greasy Vegan uses a Love Buds patty and vegan cheese. Other distinctive choices include the Philly Cheese Steak with sliced rib eye and liquid cheese, and The Parmy, which adds schnitzel, bacon, mozzarella sticks and Napoli sauce.

Detroit pizza is available by the slice, regular or family size, with options including the spicy Spitfire, the vegetarian Continental, the seafood-based Garlic Prawn and the vegan Tesla. There is also fried chicken by the piece or with chips, plus loaded fries, truffle mac and cheese bites, jalapeño poppers, hot wings, onion rings and cauliflower bites. For dessert, the list includes a brownie with salted caramel and ice cream, New York cheesecake and a sweet slice topped with fruit, marshmallow, Nutella and ice cream.
