KIN Gallery

KIN Gallery is an Australian-designed and made jewellery gallery in Braddon, representing more than 60 jewellery designers and makers from around the country. The collection changes over time and includes work by artists such as Carl Noonan, Melissa Gillespie and Rachael Grigulis, alongside KIN’s own pieces. Examples shown online include titanium and 18ct yellow gold rings, sterling silver bangles, gemstone rings, pendants and jewellery cases, giving visitors plenty to explore whether they are browsing, buying a gift or looking for something personal.

The gallery is more than a conventional jewellery shop. Alongside its changing shelves, visitors may meet artists in residence, join or observe jewellery-making workshops, or speak with the team about commissioning a custom-made piece. KIN also caters to people searching for an engagement ring, as well as those marking a marriage, birth or anniversary. Its range of services makes it relevant to both first-time jewellery buyers and people interested in learning more about how pieces are designed and made.

KIN began in 2015 as a small pop-up space in Braddon’s temporary Hamlet, initially stocking work from 28 artists. It moved in 2017 to its current ground-floor shop, Shop 06 at 27 Lonsdale Street, where the gallery has developed into a retail space and workshop. The team includes practising jewellers and creatives, led by owner and director Ingrid Lockley-Penc, who is also a jeweller. That working connection to the craft is central to the gallery’s identity and its role in the Canberra community.

The space should suit solo visitors who want time to compare pieces, couples looking for a significant item, and small groups interested in a hands-on workshop. It may also appeal to anyone curious about Australian jewellery design or considering a custom commission. The gallery’s listed winter hours are Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm, with Sunday to Tuesday closed.
