Leyla Bar is a rooftop lounge at the top of Burbury Hotel, offering a distinctly elevated way to spend an afternoon or evening in Canberra. From Level 7, the venue looks across leafy Barton, Lake Burley Griffin and the city beyond, with views that are especially suited to sunset. The setting is described as sophisticated but lively, giving it a more polished lounge feel than a straightforward neighbourhood bar.

The food is designed for sharing and grazing, with a light menu that combines smaller savoury and sweet bites. The listed dishes range from Sydney Rock oysters with yuzu mignonette and tuna carpaccio to beef tartare, crispy calamari, prawn toast and fried zucchini flower. There are also more substantial snack-style options, including cheeseburger sliders, honey and sriracha chicken sliders, grilled skewers and a slider platter with fries. Menus can change, but the current selection gives the bar a broad appeal for guests who want something alongside their drinks rather than a full formal meal.

Drinks are a major part of the Leyla experience. The bar serves creative cocktails, including martinis, spritzes, twists on classics, low-alcohol options and mocktails, as well as premium spirits, local and imported wines, beer, sparkling wine and Champagne. Its cocktail list includes a build-your-own martini option, a mini martini flight and drinks such as the Sundown Spritz and Leyla Espresso Martini. The wine list includes Canberra sparkling and Riesling alongside Australian and international bottles, while beer options include Stella Artois and local Bentspoke pours.

Leyla is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 3pm until late, making it suitable for after-work drinks, a sunset date, a catch-up with friends or a relaxed start to a longer night out. Regular programming adds reasons to return, including Sunset Hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Yakitori Night on Thursdays and an adult happy meal on Fridays. For larger occasions, the bar can be booked exclusively for birthdays, engagements and corporate celebrations, with capacity for up to 100 guests across seated and standing arrangements. Families are not the obvious focus of this rooftop bar, but solo visitors and small groups should find the drinks-led, bite-sized format easy to enjoy.
