One Tree Hill Trail, listed by Parks ACT as the One Tree Hill Summit walk, is a 9 km return outing from Hall, Canberra, taking about three hours. It is a Grade 3 walk, with short steep sections, a formed track, obstacles and many steps, so some bushwalking experience is recommended.
The route follows the Canberra Centenary Trail north from Hall, winding uphill for around 4 km through changing tree cover. Along the way, walkers can take in broad views over North Canberra before reaching the summit lookout. On a clear day, the lookout provides views of four of Canberra’s five city or town centres, making this a strong choice for a longer walk with a defined viewpoint at the end.
The first part of the route is shared with cyclists, while the final section to the summit is reserved for walkers. Dogs are not permitted on this trail. Parks ACT advises keeping to the path and checking conditions before setting out; the Northern Link, which includes the Hall Village section, can close during total fire bans and inclement weather. Start in Hall and allow enough time for the uphill sections, steps and return journey.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.7 from 51 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
