The District Bar & Restaurant

The District Bar & Restaurant is a casual pub in Crace Central Shopping Centre, Gungahlin, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. There is plenty of choice for a substantial meal. The menu includes a District beef burger with fries, chicken schnitzel with fries and salad, salt and pepper calamari, creamy garlic prawns with rice, and several steak options, including porterhouse and eye fillet. The District beef burger won the ACT AHA Best Burger award in 2023, while the venue lists an ACT AHA Best Steak award from 2024. Breakfast is served until 11am daily, with options ranging from eggs on toasted sourdough and egg and bacon rolls to chilli scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, French toast and weekend pancakes. A children’s menu includes chicken nuggets, ham and cheese pizza, and crispy chicken breast, all served with fries.

The atmosphere is described as friendly and inviting, with an allocated dog area facing Superbarn and a space intended to welcome families. Live music is held most Friday nights, featuring Areta, adding an evening entertainment option without changing the venue’s straightforward dining and bar focus. The bar serves cocktails throughout the day, including mojitos, margaritas, negronis and espresso martinis, alongside a range of other drinks.

Groups are well catered for, with function packages covering sit-down family-style events, standing functions, platters and 18th birthday gatherings. The venue says it has hosted baby showers, engagement parties, hens’ events, Christmas parties and corporate functions, and can assist with group bookings of 20 or more. Patrons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
